How much notice do you need?
We normally like a week or two prior, but we can do last minute moves on many occasions with a day’s notice.
Do you do the plumbing for white goods for free?
Yes, where possible.
Can you disconnect gas cookers?
No, you need a certification these days for that.
Does a chest of drawers need to be emptied?
If drawers come out, then items can stay in.
Do you offer flat packing services?
Yes - get in touch for prices.
Do you offer a packing service for boxes?
Yes - get in touch for prices.
Are moves all in one move or multiple trips?
All in one move, otherwise stated.
Will your van get up our road?
If a bin or skip lorry can, we definitely will.
Can you protect our new carpets?
Yes - we use blankets - they work very well.
If in a chain, what time is it normal to get the keys?
1 pm or before.
Do you supply boxes?
Yes - £1.50 each - refundable deposit.
Can we write on the boxes?
Yes, on the tape.
Do you need to know if anything is worth over £1,000?
Yes, it lets us take extra care with it.
Do you need to visit to price?
Yes, with 4-bed houses or larger, and homes with grey areas - 3-bed moves and smaller we can price with an inventory.
How long can we keep boxes?
As long as you want, even after a year, we will buy back at £1 each.
How do you transport TVs?
Wrapped in a thick blanket and stored safely at the end of the load.
Do you take paint and liquids?
Yes, but only if totally secure - please note totally secure!
Do you provide hanging wardrobes?
Yes, they are big, and it’s cheaper to put clothes into boxes, bags and suitcases as sometimes we need another van - BUT ask how many you can pop on the van without needing another - they are free to use for the day and good for suits and long dresses.
Can you go in our loft?
No, we are not insured for this - willing to help pass down or up. Unless securely boarded out and well lit.
Do you move plants?
Yes, we do, they are usually at the back of the van to save dirt getting of furniture
Can you do multiple pick-ups and drop-offs?
Yes, it’s perfectly normal.
Are there any days you don’t work?
Sundays - we need at least one day off.
Do you take a deposit?
Only on long distance jobs - all we ask is if the date changes let us know. This can save you a lot of money as dates can change last minute (often other companies do).
Do you move overseas?
No - not at the moment
Can you supply bubble wrap?
Yes, its £20 for a BIG bail.
What happens if we are not packed up and ready to move when you turn up?
We switch to an hourly rate, let us know if you will not be packed and ready before we turn up. Rates £50 per hour with two men, £60 with three men.
